Project: Patient Capital Fund Development Research

Bubble Chamber hopes to establish the Patient Capital Fund (PCF), which will address the common challenges social entrepreneurs face; the inability to raise equity investment due to restricted legal structures and the lack of affordable capital, by offering low interest, flexible funding alongside entrepreneur-focused business coaching. This development grant will help Bubble Chamber explore this idea further, design the fund structure and clarify the types of products it would offer. It will also be used to gather further evidence of customer needs and test the proposed offer with both entrepreneurs and potential investors.

Bubble Chamber will complete one to one interviews with 10-15 established entrepreneurs as a sample of the fund’s target market. These interviews will focus on the experience of existing fund management approaches, evidence of supply gaps in the market and how the Bubble Chamber approach might increase access to funding through new products.
