Impact Hub Kings Cross

Impact Hub Kings Cross

Project: Feeding the City: Accelerate

Grant: £40,000

Impact Hub Kings Cross (IHKX) will deliver an accelerator programme for food and drinks social enterprises and develop a toolkit to support adapting business models and pivoting during times of crisis and recovery. It will provide tailored and expert sector support to help enterprises access new sources of income and opportunities for growth. The learnings from the participants on the accelerator and IHKX’s previous experience will be used to create a business support and growth toolkit, which will provide information, advice and recommendations that can be used by infrastructure organisations and social investors to improve sector-wide support for social enterprises during the Covid-19 recovery period.

The toolkit IHKX produce will provide insights into the key challenges in relation to business models, decision making, operational capacity and changing consumer habits for food and drinks organisations, following the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit.  It will include diagnostics guides which can be used by infrastructure organisations to identify what types of support would best suit a social enterprise and recommendations on how food and drinks enterprises can pivot their business models and the support required to achieve this. IHKX will provide examples of successful transitions and include advice directly from the retailers about procurement.
